Turning faith hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world.
The organized unit of United Methodist Women (UMW) shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Barrington United Methodist Women also sponsors a rummage sale each year; the profits from the sale go to various local organizations and, through United Methodist Women, are sent to many national and international organizations benefiting women, children, and youth. Grace Circle makes “heart pillows” for mastectomy patients at Good Shepherd Hospital. We are also involved in various other mission projects throughout the year.
