Rally to End Racism: April 3-6

Barrington, First West Dundee, El Mesias, Trinity, and Bethel United Methodist Churches will join the faith community gathered in Washington, DC for a historic march commemorating the 50 years since Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination and to confirm our commitment to end racism in our nation.

Tuesday, April 3: Group van will depart BUMC in the early morning

2:00 pm United Methodist Prayer Witness on the steps of the United Methodist Building led by the Council of Bishops.

6:30 pm Ecumenical Service at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral

Dinner together at local restaurant

Wednesday, April 4: 

7:00-8:00 a.m. Prayer Walk

8:00-9:00 a.m.
Interfaith Service

9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Rally on National Mall

Thursday, April 5: 

Advocacy Day; Group trip to visit the United Methodist Building, Prayer at Supreme Court building and other sites

Group dinner

Friday, April 6: 

Group van will depart early in the morning to return to BUMC in the evening
