This year our youth summer mission trip is to the Bahamas Methodist Habitat. This is a non-profit outreach ministry of the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church that focuses on being a catalyst through disaster response and the promotion of community within The Bahamas. It’s much more than simply fixing roofs and floors!
Deeply rooted in Eleuthera since 1992, Bahamas Habitat has now expanded onto eight other islands throughout the country as well the Turks and Caicos, Haiti, the United States. We are based out of Camp Symonette in James Cistern, Eleuthera where 500+ volunteers will be joining us in service to others in 2016 as we facilitate true changes in the lives of our volunteers and those we serve. Our volunteers regularly serve communities in South Eleuthera, Current Island in North Eleuthera, and Nassau. We are excited that BUMC youth will be part of this partnership.
If you would like to help make it possible for the youth of BUMC to travel and serve with BMH, we ask that you partner with us in prayer and financially by purchasing shares of stock for our trip. As a stock holder you will receive a personalized postcard from the Bahamas, and an invitation to our post-mission trip celebration. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Christal Bell.
