Card angels are paired with individuals in need of care and support. They send cards of care and encouragement routinely.
Cards are sent one time to those who need support for a specific life event.
Pamphlets with helpful information regarding difficult life events are available on a rack by the wall outside
Volunteers visit people going through difficult times in any setting to support congregants. Referrals are through the pastors.
Occasional meals can be provided to congregants going through difficult life events. Requests for meals should be directed to the pastors or the member care team.
Small gifts of encouragement are given to congregants and shut-ins throughout the year as appropriate.

Member Support Programs
Throughout the year, programs and presentations take place at the church. Topics of interest and/or need are selected. They are planned for a variety of times and are advertised to the congregation.
New Member Reception
Receptions are held to welcome and celebrate new members on the Sunday they join.
Baby baskets and a meal is provided to families of newborns.
Members create shawls which are available to give to congregants, friends, and family going through a difficult life event.
Upon request and availability of volunteers, transportation to church and local medical appointments can be arranged.
Traveling Tea Party
Volunteers bring tea and cookies and spend time visiting with homebound congregants.
Worship Service at the Garlands
A worship service with communion is held at The Garlands at 7:00 p.m. on the third Monday* of every month. All are welcome to attend. *In response to the State of Illinois' COVID-19 mitigations, these worship services have been suspended until further notice.
