Family Ministries

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all gatherings at Barrington UMC have been suspended until further notice. Please don't hesitate to contact the church office, (847) 836-5540, if you have questions or need help in any way. We pledge to continue engaging in vital worship, vibrant faith and changing lives.

Welcome! Our goal is to serve children, youth, parents and families through vibrant worship experiences, engaging and age-appropriate faith development, building relationships and community, and service opportunities that are meaningful to even our youngest Christians.

Sunday morning opportunities for children

Getting back into the swing of things after the holidays can be tough! Getting children moving on a chilly Sunday morning—sometimes impossible! We get that. And we also know there aren’t many things that motivate children as much as getting to wear their pajamas out in public. Children are invited to worship in their cozy pjs every Sunday in January!

JAM (Jesus and Me) meets during the 9:30 worship service, following the children’s message, and at 11:00 a.m. during Crossroads Worship. Pre-K through grade 2 meet in the JAM room while students grades 3–5 will meet Youth Room on the 1st & 3rd Sundays and in the Dining Room on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.

Infants and Toddlers  Nursery Care for infants and toddlers, 8:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m.
Experienced and trained childcare workers lead stories and songs in age-appropriate ways, helping little ones understand God, themselves and the world around them.

The theme this month for Pre K through grade 2 is "Follow the Leader."

The theme this month for students grades 3 through 5 is D.I.Y.: FORGIVENESS IS UP TO YOU
