Northern Illinois Food Bank
Serve within the community
Barrington UMC has been a crucial part of the response to food insecurity in our region through the produce grown and harvested in the congregation’s garden, community meals cooked and shared, and partnership with the FISH food pantry. Those who have participated know the joy of being part of a team answering God’s call to feed the hungry. The unprecedented need among our neighbors due to COVID-19 gives us a new opportunity to serve at the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
Our congregation has reservations to help with sorting and packing at the Geneva Warehouse. We invite you to give prayerful consideration to making this part of your offering of time and talent. Please register each person separately, and each person will receive a confirmation and instructions. We need to submit a roster of names one week before the shift and will establish a waitlist for registrants who would still like to sign up closer to the date.
