Adult Faith Development

Adult Faith Development groups and classes are opportunities to grow in your knowledge about the bible, faith, and the ways that we live our faith in everyday life. From one-session stand-alone classes to long-term groups, we have opportunities for everyone to participate, to learn and to grow.

Disciple Bible Study classes provide opportunities for in-depth, long-term exploration of the bible in a small group setting. New sessions begin each Fall. For more information or to join the next session, contact Pastor Matthew Johnson at  .

Centering Prayer Group
Fridays at 1:30 p.m. in the BUMC Parlor
All are welcome to join this prayer group each Friday in the Parlor (behind the mini-kitchen near the sanctuary). Centering Prayer is a contemplative practice to help us still our busy minds and have quiet time with God. This group will meet on a weekly basis and each session lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. Generally, the time frame encompasses 20 minutes of prayer, 30 minutes of study, and a check-in time of 15-30 minutes. Our study guide is Thomas Keating’s book, Open Mind, Open Heart.  Books will be available for purchase at the meeting. If you would like to join the group or have questions, please call Liz Penick, (847)-991-2654.  Or just come join us!
