We seek to intentionally and sincerely welcome persons of all ages, nations and races. We are committed to building a diverse community that values people of all abilities, statuses, backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender expressions. We believe that God calls us to vibrant worship that encourages participants to encounter the living God; to grow in faith, friendship and love as we each seek to live our faith in our daily lives; and to serve God and our neighbor through acts of charity, kindness, mercy and justice. We embrace and nurture all people at any point in their faith journey and believe there is room at Christ’s Table for all.

We are a community of believers seeking to grow in faith, love, and service every day. We are a church for everybody. We welcome all people, just as they are, into a church family that values authenticity over perfection and connection over performance.

We believe in worship that draws us closer to God, relationships that reflect Christ’s love, and a faith that is lived out through mission, compassion and service. Our calling is not only to gather but to go, serving others, standing for justice, and caring deeply about the dignity and well-being of every person. Prayer is at the heart of who we are. It shapes our ministries, guides our mission, and strengthens our walk with God. As a mission-minded church, we take joy in putting our faith into action, locally and globally. At BUMC, we care about people. We want something for you, not from you: peace in your finances, strength in your family, joy in generosity, purpose in serving, and Christ at the center of your life.

We long for depth, intimacy, passion, and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

Discipleship matters to us. We're a Safe Gatherings church, committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all.
Wherever you are in your faith journey, you are welcome here. Let’s walk it together.

What We Hold In Common

Being a United Methodist isn’t about checking off a list of beliefs, it’s about living a faith that’s real, rooted, and active. At our core, we’re committed to the essentials of the Christian life: loving God, following Jesus, and making a difference in the world. We take the Bible seriously, reading it with open hearts and minds. We also draw insight from the wisdom of Christian tradition, the lessons of our own experience, and the guidance of reason. Together, these help us grow in faith and understanding.
Our way of life is shaped by three simple but powerful rules:

1. Do no harm – strive to avoid actions that hurt others or yourself.
2. Do good – look for every opportunity to be kind, generous, and compassionate.
3. Stay in love with God – seek God daily through prayer, learning, and acts of justice and mercy.

For us, church is a way of life. It’s how we live out our faith in community, in service, and in love every day of the week.
